On Monday, June 15, 2026, we conducted a "Dream Class" at Ishizaka Elementary School in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, as part of the Nationwide Mountainous Area Future-Building Project. The instructor was Gediminas Grinius, a world champion in ultra-trail running, while Matsunaga served as both an instructor and interpreter.

Cold weather kit has been removed from the list of mandatory gear.
Please note, however, that temperatures drop on the ridgeline and at night. Competitors who feel they need more than the list of mandatory items should make preparations according to their own skill levels.
Regarding the possibility of shortening the course due to the approaching typhoon
As you are aware, a typhoon is currently forecast to approach the area.
Depending on its path and the forecast, the course may be shortened.
The final decision will be announced on the website by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26.

About caution on the 160 km course
When passing through a construction site managed by the forestry cooperative on the 160km course, please pass through quickly without stopping near the site to ensure your safety. Also, please do not approach any construction materials as they are dangerous.
